Holding on...

Below is a poem close to my heart, I had written some two years ago. Looking back, it will always be symbolic of something for me. Hope something in it resonates with you, and maybe makes you more hopeful if you need it. :) Let me know your thoughts.

The world is too small for ambitions which reach beyond the sky
the night is too long to hope for a shimmery dawn

the load is too heavy for all the strengths of our little backs
the darkness is too encompassing for any light to glow

the hard paths I tread are not enough to make me a good traveler
the flowers I see up ahead are not for me to smell

the hours of toil and work mean nothing to the world
although they mean the world to me

the way I face grave reality sometimes just chokes the heart
which motivates me everyday, to make a new start

the hope sinks, surges and sways as blow by blow
failures hit my face making my dreams hollow

but sometimes, that is all a part of the game
as life, with its wildest plans, does its job, it tames

sometimes, its good to give it the benefit of doubt
rather than cry, grieve or just shout

cause no matter where you are, no matter how big you become
just as success hits one with fame, so does occasionally darkness comes

what matters is to give ones best, to forget the rest
cause life's not about whether you fail, its not a test

what matters the most is that you give your best
and let life decide how matters should rest
