Whose land is this you ask
Yours or mine
I feel a thousand different things
As answering this question
Is tough I find
I believed I read
That we were once just strangers
United by the knowledge
That we are after all, humankind
That we could look different
And be born on different lands
Miles and seas apart
And yet through our existence
Realize how - of a much bigger plan,
we are just tiny parts
I dream of entering worlds unknown
Of knowing cultures different than mine
In the pursuit of something different
In becoming everything I could find
I have indeed realized the more I see
That what I dreamt about need not be an unrealized fantasy
As amongst the thousands I speak to
I feel one, with only a few
And funnily they might just be
On a side of the globe
Which rises awake when I dream of meeting it every night
So let me know you and walk hand in hand
And don't scare me with these weird rules
And these lines you draw
Between your land and mine
For the more you talk about
whose land this is
Yours or mine
The more absurd your question, I find.
